The Day We Met A Pony!
Monday 4th August 2025 | Congresbury|
Now it’s not often you get the chance to stroke the velvety ears or feel the whiskers of a pony’s muzzle, but during the school holidays some of our families did. After a suggestion from one of our adult members who rides there, we headed off to Urchinwood Manor Riding and Event Centre for a morning of horse play. There we met Pumpkin and Solo who both thoroughly enjoyed being fed, groomed and generally fussed over. We learnt facts like how old ponies live for? Answer: 20-40 years! We then took the visit mobile by leading Solo around the stables, having a tour along the way. We learnt what it takes to look after a pony and what life working at the stables is like. I’m still not sure who had the most fun, the kids or the adults?
“Thank you, a great experience, really enjoyed the ponies”
“Can we come again? I will remember this day forever”
It was such an a lovely morning full of information and connection and we certainly plan on meeting more ponies in the future.
