The CPP Young Adults Club Visits The Barranco Lounge!

19th November 2023 | Barranco Lounge, Bristol

Here at CPP, we run a group for our younger adult members to help combat social isolation. We host bi-monthly events in a variety of locations across Bristol, which are designed with our members in mind. Our aim is to encourage them to come along and socialise with like-minded people whilst doing an activity they enjoy. Over the past few years, we have hosted lots of successful events, including bowling, crazy golf and several trips to the cinema to watch the latest blockbusters.

Recently, we decided to arrange an evening meal for our members. Ensuring that our events are tailored to the interests of our members is very important to us, so we asked our members to choose the location of the meal. The Barranco Lounge in Filton was the most popular choice.

Part of the Lounge group of restaurants, The Barranco Lounge is in an easily accessible location and offers a wide variety of food options. They also adequately cater for those with dietary requirements with specific vegan and gluten-free menus, so we knew this would be a good venue for our group.

When we arrived at the restaurant, there was a buzzing atmosphere. The staff were really helpful and attentive throughout, taking our order via table service to make it easier for us and ensuring we had everything we needed. The food, which was served quickly despite the busyness of the restaurant at this time, was delicious.

When we weren’t busy eating, the staff and the members spent time getting to know each other better. Conversations across the group spanned everything from top holiday locations to learning Polish vocabulary!

As you can see from the photos, our members Zoe, Terri, Patrick and Abi had a great time! And so did all the staff!

After each of our events, we ask those who attended to provide feedback, so that we can understand what went well and how we can improve our events in the future. One member said that the choice of food available was “so good”, with another member responding that being in the company of others was their favourite part of the event.

Everyone who provided feedback said that attending this event had a positive impact on their wellbeing.

If you would like to attend one of our Young Adults events but missed out this time, don’t worry! We are already busy planning our next event and details of this will be shared very soon.

If you would like to be added to our Young Adult mailing list, please email Jasmine at [email protected] or Olivia at [email protected].

We look forward to seeing you all again soon!

Best wishes,

Jasmine and Olivia
