CPP’s Got Talent

Sunday 5th October 2025 | Bishopston|

With World Cerebral palsy Day on the 6th September, we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate then to host our annual talent show with a Unique and United theme.  We covered our room at the Gloucester Cricket Ground in green and set about painting people’s face’s green.

Now we everyone suitably green, we started our talent-filled day by hearing from two members who have been busy fundraising for us via their astonishing swimming challenges.  Ash who has been bravely cold-water swimming over the years, going further each time and Jamie who, along with 7 other teammates, completed a swimathon.  Everyone was blown away by the level of dedication and endurance of these two.  And then the audience was further blown away by the CPP staff’s VERY unique version of This Is Me.

Our comperes for the afternoon, Cathy and Adrian then took us through the day by introducing great act after great act grouped together in age categories.  We had singing, dancing, composing, beat boxing, stand up as well as pre-recorded videos and pre-created creations on display.  Whilst the judges deliberated, lunch was served, and members were asked to write down what made them unique for a chance at a further prize.

Finally, the moment our participants were all waiting for…. the judge’s final decisions!  The judges: Trustee Sonia, Jamie, Ash and two Taylor Rose employees, together decided that winner of the Green Shoots was Arthur with his performance of five little ducks.  Benito took the trophy for the Evergreens with another song from the Greatest Showman.  Winner of Evergreens was Ian for his hilarious frame running sketch.  The prize for best costume was taken by Tom who was in full camouflage, so we’re told, as not many people recall seeing him.  David took the gold for best face painted and Tiffany for her craft entries which included a textile elephant and dog puzzle.  And then finally best unique quote was from Jane for her positive attitude that made the judges smile.

All in all, it was a joyful afternoon packed full to the brim with talent.  Thank you to Taylor Rose for sponsoring the event and to everyone who took part and attended.
