
Hi, my name is Tom Routley, and I am the new admin assistant at CPP. I thought that it would be nice to write a blog post about accessible holiday accommodation in the UK, as this may be of interest of our members.
Here is a list of four potential locations to visit and a grant you can apply for the cost of a holiday. A quick disclaimer: I have only been to the Calvert Trust personally, and thought it was great, but this is my personal view and Cerebral Palsy Plus has not assessed any of these properties.
Before discussing specific properties, I thought I would like to point out that this website has a full list of properties all over the UK for you to have a look at.
This is in the Peak District and is ideal for a big group of people. There’s lot to do in the Peak district, the home of the Bakewell Tart.
This is the only fully accessible holiday accommodation in London! It is perfect for a sightseeing mini break in the capital city.
If you want an outward-bound holiday, then this is perfect! The Calvert Trust provided apartments for you and your family to stay in. There is also two other Calvert Trusts in the Lake District and Northumberland if you like the Devon one! This is a lovely lakeside property in Herefordshire if you want a peaceful and relaxing holiday. The accommodation only sleeps up to 6 people, so this is more with a family in mind.
This charity used to run a holiday centre until 2024 but now provide grants that goes towards the costs of holidays and day trips in the UK as well as holidays abroad. You can apply online, by post or by telephone.
